Honouring the Legacy of Dr Brendan O’Regan

Ei Electronics is proud to support the new Dr Brendan O'Regan Centre at Bunratty Folk Park as primary sponsor, helping to ensure that the extraordinary contribution of one of Ireland's greatest innovators, visionaries and community builders is recognised and remembered for generations to come.

Just one month after opening, the Centre is already proving popular with visitors who are eager to learn more about the life, work and lasting impact of Dr Brendan O'Regan, a Sixmilebridge native whose influence extended far beyond County Clare.

Widely regarded as one of the key architects of modern Shannon and the wider Mid-West region, Dr O'Regan played a transformative role in tourism, aviation, industry, commerce and peacebuilding. His vision and leadership helped shape the Shannon Free Zone, contributed to the growth of Shannon Airport, and created opportunities that continue to benefit communities across Ireland today.

The Centre features a dedicated exhibition space showcasing Dr O'Regan's remarkable achievements, alongside an immersive cinematic experience that brings his story to life through oral histories, photographs and archival material. Together, these elements provide visitors with a deeper understanding of a man whose ideas and determination helped change the course of regional and national development.

Recently, Ei Electronics Founder and Chairman Mick Guinee visited the Centre to experience the exhibition and learn more about the work that has gone into preserving this important legacy.

The development of the Dr Brendan O'Regan Centre has been driven by the long-held vision and dedication of Sixmilebridge Historical Society. The project, together with a statue of Dr O'Regan created by renowned sculptor Seamus Connolly, was made possible through the support of Clare County Council, Ei Electronics and a range of organisations committed to honouring his legacy.

At Ei Electronics, we believe strong communities are built by recognising those whose vision, leadership and innovation create lasting positive change. Supporting projects that celebrate our local history and inspire future generations is an important part of our commitment to the communities in which we live and work.

We congratulate everyone involved in bringing this important project to life and encourage anyone visiting Bunratty Folk Park to take the opportunity to discover the remarkable story of Dr Brendan O'Regan and the enduring impact of his work.
