Celebrating Inclusion and Achievement with Special Olympics Ireland

Ei Electronics was delighted to welcome more than 25 guests from Special Olympics Ireland to our Shannon campus on 24th September, including athletes, family members, volunteers and representatives. The event celebrated the achievements of 10 Clare athletes supported by Ei Electronics who took part in the 2026 Special Olympics Ireland Summer Games, while giving our colleagues an opportunity to meet them, hear their stories and learn more about their experiences.

The day began with a tour of the Ei Electronics factory, followed by an athlete and volunteer panel discussion, where guests shared their experiences and spoke about their involvement in Special Olympics and Summer Games. The programme continued with a fun and interactive Sports and Skills Experience on our Astro Pitch, where athletes demonstrated a range of activities before inviting Ei colleagues to get involved. The visit concluded with lunch, giving athletes, volunteers and Ei colleagues an opportunity to relax, chat and spend some time together.

There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with a great turnout from Ei colleagues. One of the most memorable moments of the visit was seeing the athletes proudly sharing their medals and speaking about what the Games and their achievements meant to them. Following the event, we were delighted to hear that our guests felt so warmly welcomed and that the athletes particularly valued the opportunity to showcase their medals and accomplishments.

Events like this bring our community partnerships to life, giving us the opportunity not only to provide support, but also to create meaningful connections, celebrate achievements and champion inclusion. We were proud to welcome Special Olympics Clare to Ei Electronics and celebrate the athletes and their achievements together.
