Ei has set an ambitious target for the Group to be Net Zero Carbon by 2030, and is now seeking a:
Sustainability Manager
As Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Senior Leadership Team in embedding the next phase of Ei’s Sustainability Strategy to achieve this target.
You will have responsibility for day-to-day management of the implementation of the Strategy, ensuring that all activity is aligned with the Company’s Ambition, Purpose, Culture and Strategic Priorities.
In your role, you will be subject matter expert in Sustainability and will act as a trusted Sustainability adviser to Senior Management and the wider business, utilising your experience to help drive the Sustainability agenda within Ei.
The Role:
- Support the Senior Management Team in evolving and embedding a comprehensive Sustainability Strategy for the Company.
- Contribute to strategic thinking on achieving Net Zero and lead the development of a corresponding strategy and timeline for delivery.
- Lead the implementation of the Sustainability Strategy through the introduction of appropriate policies, objectives and governance structures.
- Lead and manage Ei’s Carbon Reporting Programme across Scope 1, 2 and 3, including mobilising a strategy for setting Science Based Targets (SBTs) under our Low Carbon Pledge commitments.
- Be a Sustainability Champion and communicate regularly within the team and wider business, driving engagement for the programme.
- Work with Group Companies, subsidiaries and partners to co-ordinate targets, plans and objectives.
- Set and manage KPIs to track and measure progress against Sustainability Strategy objectives, building on existing business KPIs and ensuring alignment to industry best practice.
- Be knowledgeable of the changes to (and legislation within) the sustainability landscape in order to support the wider team with effective and impactful reporting.
- Draft and manage the inputs for the annual Sustainability Report.
- Work alongside the wider team to develop and deliver engaging internal communication campaigns to communicate sustainability activity to colleagues within the organisation.
- Manage and create content for Ei’s Sustainability Website and social media platforms.
- Support in delivering Ei’s diverse CSR activities.
- Lead the development and implementation of a Biodiversity Strategy for the Company
- Develop and Lead a Cross Functional Sustainability Training Programme for employees.
- Ensure activities meet regulatory requirements, and all internal policies and procedures.
The Person:
- Relevant degree or higher – sustainability, social impact, business, finance or accounting.
- At least 3 years experience in the field of Sustainability.
- Strong research, analytical and report writing skills
- Good understanding of relevant international frameworks, regulations and standards, e.g. Sustainable Development Goals and ISO standards (for example, ISO26000 and ISO50001) and how to implement and embed them within an organisation.
- Ability to handle data (organise, clean, sort, analyse, and identify trends and anomalies, etc.).
- Experience in carbon data management is a distinct advantage.
- Outstanding organisational and planning skills.
- A confident and articulate communicator capable of bringing people together and inspiring strong collaboration within an organisation.
- Positive attitude with a passion for sustainability and community programming.
