Ei acquires Australian distributor Brooks

Ei Electronics has acquired its long-time Australian distributor, Sydney-based Brooks PTY, marking a significant step in its global expansion. Employing 35 staff across Australia, Brooks is a market leader in fire detection solutions for residential and commercial sectors, particularly within public and community housing.

Founded in 1977, Brooks is renowned for its quality and innovation, boasting a strong presence nationwide. The two companies share a 30-year partnership built on aligned values and mutual success.

“This acquisition strengthens our position in a key market,” said Mick Guinee, Ei CEO. “We’re gaining not only a respected brand and loyal customer base, but also a highly experienced team.”

Brooks MD Cameron Brooks called the move “a natural evolution,” citing Ei’s world-class products and Brooks’ strong local distribution as the foundation for future growth.

Brooks also partners with Panasonic on commercial panel systems—an area Ei plans to support and expand. Ei aims to grow Brooks’ team and capabilities, bringing new Connected Home and IoT solutions to the Australian market while maintaining the Brooks brand.
