Dr David Richardson appointed head of R&D

We’re excited to announce that Dr. David Richardson has taken on a new role as Group Head of R&D, in addition to his current responsibilities as CTO.

David has been with Ei since 2015, starting out as a Chemical and Sensor Technologist. Over the years, he’s played a key role in shaping our tech direction, most recently as Senior Technologist and then Group CTO.

In his new role, David will lead our growing Engineering Team and help steer innovation across the business. He will also serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and the Executive Team on all technology-related matters.

David holds a PhD in Materials Science and a B.Sc. in Applied Physics from the University of Limerick, plus a Master’s in Technology Management from the University of Galway.

This move comes as Mike Keegan begins planning his retirement after six impactful years leading R&D. Mike will stay on for the transition, supporting David in resource planning and team development.
