INNOVATION FOR MANAGEMENT

Innovation journey enhances tenant safety and well-being in the UK

The Duty of Care fulfilled by UK social housing authorities involves monitoring, maintaining, and caring for thousands of homes. Many have been long-term Ei customers for smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide alarms and, since 2019, environmental sensors.

Now, protection is getting smarter. With our connected home solution, housing associations and property managers can more effectively monitor and manage their property assets. And with the residents’ app, everyone stays informed, connected, and in control.

One device,
six sensors

Our new 4000 series device is in advanced development and set for market release shortly.

The next generation of multi–sensors, featuring heat, smoke, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, temperature, and humidity, all in one unit.

INNOVATION FOR INSTALLATION

Unique features enable faster, easier installations

Over the years, we’ve delivered a series of innovations to enable faster, easier installation. The ground-breaking Easi-fit base, initially introduced in 1999, provides a true, innovative approach to fast, simple installations. Since then, we’ve leveraged technology to further advance ease of installation. Using the SmartLinkTM App and product QR codes, installations can be easily completed via Bluetooth, and uploaded to the SmartLinkTM Portal – providing seamless installation, remote monitoring and tracking and traceability.

INNOVATION FOR TRACEABILITY

Digital traceability
from component to ceiling

We have enhanced traceability by assigning a unique, trackable serial number to each device, linked to extensive data and imagery captured throughout the product’s journey, from manufacture to testing, packing, shipping, and final installation.

Remote device inspection and testing for German service companies

Designed for Germany, manufactured in Ireland, and available globally. Following a regulatory revision in 2018, Ei developed the Ei6500-OMS Remote Inspection Alarm, enabling service companies to fully inspect and test devices from outside a building.

A pioneer in sensor
innovation for more
than fifty years

As a world-leading specialist in domestic environmental sensors, we have pioneered numerous breakthroughs in optical, thermistor, and electrochemical sensors and their related technologies. Our research laboratories are located in Shannon, Ireland, where we maintain a relentless drive for innovation with our large, multi-disciplinary engineering team.

  • Optical Smoke Sensors

Fast-response, sensitive sensors, shielded against EMI and with automatic dust compensation. Ultra-fine insect netting protects the sensors against insects.

  • Thermistor Heat Sensors

Cutting-edge Class A1 thermistors calibrated for activation at 58°C. All heat alarms also feature hardwired or wireless interconnectivity, along with testing and memory functions, to ensure whole-house protection.

  • Electrochemical Carbon Monoxide Sensors

Next-generation 10-year sensors with platinum electrodes and gold-plated pins for unmatched stability and accuracy — detecting trace CO levels while resisting dust, humidity, and airborne contaminants.

  • Temperature Sensors

Precision-engineered for ultra-stable readings in fluctuating environments. Ideal for both safety and smart home systems, with rapid calibration and robust long-term reliability baked into every component.

  • Humidity Sensors

Innovative capacitive sensors deliver high accuracy across a wide range of humidity levels. Designed to withstand condensation and contaminants — ensuring consistent performance even in harsh domestic conditions.

  • Carbon Dioxide Sensors

State-of-the-art NDIR sensors monitor indoor air quality with pinpoint accuracy. Compact and low-power, they support ventilation control and wellness applications in increasingly airtight homes.
