Ei Electronics Germany leads the way with an Innovative Solution to Recycle end-of-life Smoke Detectors

Our German subsidiary, Ei Electronics KG, is leading the way in sustainability with an innovative solution for recycling end-of-life smoke detectors.

Through manual dismantling and component separation, materials such as plastic, circuit boards, and batteries are processed for raw material recovery. This initiative makes Ei Electronics the first manufacturer of smoke alarms to offer a comprehensive solution for professional dismantling and raw material recovery.

This initiative operates by way of a take-back function with a recycling partner - uniCoe GmBH. In addition, the process employs the services of the Werkstaetten Haus Hall Foundation where 1,100 people with physical and mental challenges are employed. This further underpins our support for disadvantaged members of our communities.
