Role Overview

The Head of Program & Portfolio Delivery is accountable for the programs, portfolio, tooling, processes and infrastructure to ensure Ei Electronics delivers effectively and at scale on its strategic technology and product roadmap. 

In this role you will be the primary delivery owner of the journey from gate zero concept through to market launch, orchestrating market, product, hardware and software, platform and architecture teams to operate on a global scale, delivering on Ei’s strategic technology and portfolio roadmap.  

This role is responsible for building and optimising the connective tissue between engineering, product, supply chain, sales and product marketing/go to market teams— holding the schedule, surfacing risk early, and managing the governance frameworks to ensure effective mechanisms for balancing commercial priorities, delivery priorities, capacity and capability to ensure high performance, on time delivery of the Ei Group portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, implement and manage the stage-gate process end to end, ensuring effective data driven gate reviews to ensure readiness and high delivery confidence at each stage.
  • Work across product and technology stakeholders to ensure target roadmaps are translated into integrated hardware and software roadmaps which are built from the ground up to ensure realistic delivery plans and timelines from product concept to go to market.
  • Drive cross-functional execution at portfolio level across product, engineering, supply chain, quality, NPI, manufacturing and go-to-market teams.
  • Manage risk and dependencies — use best program practices to ensure effective and early risk management and mitigation driving early actions & remediations to ensure on time delivery and market launch
  • Drive AI Enablement as force multiplier to identify opportunities to leverage AI capabilities to improve overall execution and speed in our end to end portfolio delivery lifecycle
  • Ensure timely reporting to the executive team and operating management teams with concise program summaries, clear data driven programme status & ensuring issues are understood early, cross functional and downstream impacts are identified and quantified along with agreed cross functional actions and mitigations
  • Mature the portfolio and product delivery function itself: tooling, cadence, and the way the organisation runs programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 15+ years in program or delivery management, with genuine experience shipping products that are both hardware and software.
  • Proficient in both hardware and software delivery methodologies along with demonstrated experience in transforming such capabilities across a globally distributed enterprise
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex high impact programs and adept to ensuring strong alignment across multiple stakeholder groups both internally an externally
  • Outcome oriented – someone who can demonstrate high degrees of personal accountability, focused on assuring business and commercial outcomes based on delivered programmes  — someone who can be viewed in a globally distributed organisation as a trusted advocate and owner of the “ whole programme” view and is adept at identifying risk and mitigation throughout the end to end program delivery lifecycle and product lifecycle
  • Trusted senior leader, able to operate in high pressure, deadline driven environments, and comfortable with open, honest and challenging discussions when necessary.
  • Excellent communicator, equally credible in a design review and in front of the exec team.
  • High-EQ individual with a demonstrated focus and passion for the success of the team.
