The Ei411 Remote Control is an excellent accessory to help you manage and maintain your smoke alarms. It is designed for use with the RadioLINK range of smoke alarms and bases.
The Ei411 Remote Control allows you, from a distance, to:
Test the alarms without having to reach up to the smoke alarms on the ceilings
Locate the unit causing the other alarms to sound – this is of great benefit when all the alarms are sounding, particularly at night. The locate function will rapidly identify where the fire is located,as it stops all the alarms except ones sensing fire. This is ideal for larger systems as people nearest the fire can be quickly evacuated and/or the fire controlled if it is small. (The locate button also identifies which alarms have previously sensed fire. This is very useful when trouble-shooting systems of many smoke and/or heat alarms).
10 Year Battery Powered
RF range 150 metres(minimun) in free space
LED Indicator Lights to indicate product status
Uniquely coded to work with one system only
Wireless interconnect with up to 12 other units
5 year guarantee
For full Installation and Siting Instructions please refer to the Use and Care Manual
The Ei411 Remote Control should be positioned about 1.5 meters high on a wall (similar to a light switch), in a suitable location – recommended locations could be a hall/stairway or exit route
Securely fasten the base plate of the unit to the wall using the fixing screws supplied
Carefully switch on the battery switch
As with all RadioLINK products, it is essential that you house code your Remote Control with your smoke alarms to prevent false alarms and other interference with nearby systems
To House Code your Manual Call Point – Place all the RadioLINK Smoke Alarms and/or Bases into house code mode, within 15 minutes. Also place the Remote Control into house code mode by pressing and holding the code button until the amber light turns on. Release the button and the amber light will now flash continuously to show it is in house code mode. The Remote Control will now send a radio message every 5 seconds to indicate it is in house code mode. All smoke alarms within range that are also in house code mode themselves will memorise the house code of the Remote Control
Check that the number of light flashes correspond with the number of units in the system
Remove all the RadioLINK Smoke alarms and RadioLINK Bases from house code mode
Remove the Ei411 from house code mode by pressing and holding the code button until the amber light comes on (i.e. the same method as to enter house code mode). Release the button and the red light will go out, indicating that the Manual Call Point has exited house code mode
Carefully screw the cover plate onto the base plate
*If, when checking the radio link interconnection, some of the alarms do not respond to the
button test, then:*
Ensure the Ei411 Remote Control has been activated correctly and the amber light has come on continuously for 3.5 seconds and then continues to flash amber
Convert one of the RadioLINK Bases or alarms that is centrally located within the house in to a “Repeater”
Re-locate the Remote Control and/or re-locate/rotate the RadioLINK units. There are a number of reasons why the radio link signals may not reach all the smoke alarms in your system. Try rotating the units or re-locating the units as this can significantly improve signal reception
Rotating and/or relocating the units may move them out of the range of existing units even though they may have already been house coded correctly in the system. It is important therefore to check that all detectors are communicating in their final installed positions. If units are rotated and/or resited, we recommend that all units are returned to the factory settings (press and hold the house code switch on for about 6 seconds until the amber light comes on and then flashes slowly). Then house code all units again in their final positions as per installation. The radio link interconnection should then be re-checked again.
