The Ei407 Manual Call Point is designed for use with the RadioLINK range of smoke alarms and bases.
The Ei407 Manual Call Point allows you to sound the RadioLINK alarms and is ideal where emergency situations are identified and requires an immediate evacuation.
With the replaceable actuator, the Ei407 also provides a means to test the RadioLINK alarms without having to reach up to the smoke alarms on the ceilings.
10 Year Battery Powered
RF range 150 metres(minimun) in free space
LED Indicator Lights to indicate product status
Uniquely coded to work with one system only
Low power cell warning in the event of a cell failure
Wireless interconnect with up to 12 other units
5 year guarantee
For full Installation and Siting Instructions please refer to the Use and Care Manual
The Ei407 Manual Call Point should be positioned about 1.5 meters high on a wall (similar to a light switch), in a suitable location – recommended locations could be a hall/stairway or exit route
Securely fasten the mounting box of the unit to the wall using the fixing screws supplied
Next, remove the resettable element and the cover bracket – first use the key to pull open the cover and then pull down and lift off the cover bracket and the resettable element and retain carefully
Carefully switch on the battery switch
As with all RadioLINK products, it is essential that you house code your Manual Call Point with your smoke alarms to prevent false alarms and other interference with nearby systems
To House Code your Manual Call Point – all RadioLINK units should be located in their final positions before house coding should commence. Place all the RadioLINK Smoke Alarms and/or Bases into house code mode, within 15 minutes. Also place the Manual Call Point into house code mode by pressing and holding the code button until the red light turns on. Release the button and the red light will now flash continuously to show it is in house code mode. The Manual Call Point will now send a radio message every 5 seconds to indicate it is in house code mode. All smoke alarms within range that are also in house code mode themselves will memorise the house code of the Manual Call Point
Check that the number of light flashes correspond with the number of units in the system
Remove all the RadioLINK Smoke alarms and RadioLINK Bases from house code mode
Remove the Ei407 from house code mode by pressing and holding the code button until the red light comes on (i.e. the same method as to enter house code mode). Release the button and the red light will go out, indicating that the Manual Call Point has exited house code mode
Carefully screw the cover plate onto the mounting box with the screws provided
Replace the resettable element and the cover bracket and snap upwards into position – note that the LED will light red, amber and green indicating that the Manual Call Point has now been reset and is fully operational
The Manual Call Point should now be tested to ensure the RadioLINK units will respond to the alarm – press the activation point and the resettable element will drop down showing the yellow activated line. The red light will come on twice continuously for 3.5 seconds and then continue to flash red for 5 minutes indicating transmission of the alarm signal
All RadioLINK units should now alarm
The Manual Call Point should be reset as indicated by first pulling down the cover and pressing upwards. On reset, the alarm cancel signal will be transmitted (indicated by a single red light flash for 3.5 seconds)
*If, when checking the radio link interconnection, some of the alarms do not respond to the
button test, then:*
Ensure the Ei407 Manual Call Point has been activated correctly and the red light has come on continuously for 3.5 seconds and then continues to flash red
Convert one of the RadioLINK Bases or alarms that is centrally located within the house in to a “Repeater”
Re-locate the manual call point and/or re-locate/rotate the RadioLINK units. There are a number of reasons why the radio link signals may not reach all the smoke alarms in your system. Try rotating the units or re-locating the units as this can significantly improve signal reception
Rotating and/or relocating the units may move them out of the range of existing units even though they may have already been house coded correctly in the system. It is important therefore to check that all detectors are communicating in their final installed positions. If units are rotated and/or resited, we recommend that all units are returned to the factory settings (press and hold the house code switch on for about 6 seconds until the amber light comes on and then flashes slowly). Then house code all units again in their final positions as per installation. The radio link interconnection should then be re-checked again.
